Anna Brennan
“...insightful, hilarious and yes, sometimes a bit dirty..."
Bris Funny Fest
Anna Brennan started doing stand-up comedy in Melbourne in 2014 and has produced and performed at over 200 shows. She was the 2018 QLD Raw Comedy runner-up and she has now performed at Anywhere Festival, Horizon Festival, Noosa Alive!, Village Festival, Bris Funny Fest and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
"She’s supremely likable, with a flair for the physically comic flourish. Her vulnerability is of the sort that is so relatable you can’t help but laugh with her, and at life in general. When she's in full flight Brennan is a wonder to behold. You’ll probably want to grab her after the show to have beers with her." - Kate Mulqueen, ARTS hub
Her second solo show ‘Pants Touching’ was described by Bris Funny Fest producer Adam O’Sullivan as "an insightful, hilarious and yes, sometimes a bit dirty, look into the world of modern female dating. Think Sex and the City, set on the Sunshine Coast".
Anna produces standup comedy tours from Brisbane to Airlie Beach multiple times a year, and she also managed an independent venue in Fed Square for Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Anna runs The Jester Guild, a stand-up comedy course and she has published a children’s book, A Dragon is Coming. She wrote and directed a one act play, Tinderella, which won the People’s Choice Award at Comedy Shorts and Stand Up at The Majestic Theatre in Pomona in 2019. Anna has dabbled in acting, voiceover work, podcasting and putting the ‘pro’ in procrastination.
Anna’s comedy is observational, relatable and a little bit gross. She can do a squeaky clean show with jokes kids can hear one day, and a dirty hour of dating and debauchery the next.
